Q: So really, who the hell is this guy?
A: Short version is - a Spanish sculptor who lost his ladylove to Badly Transliterated Elizabeth Bathory, and is now dedicated to his family's path of vampire hunting. Long version's over here.

Q: Wait, Eric was a sculptor?
A: According to the European manual for the first game he appeared in, he at least wanted to be! The Japanese manual simply calls him "a young man who loved the arts". Given that the English-language localization team went so far as to edit the prologue and epilogue to make him look "manlier", I'm not terribly surprised that they skipped out on mentioning that in the American manual.

Q: Why that username?
A: You've never seen "Paint Your Wagon", have you... here, it's a silly pun based off his alias in Portrait of Ruin and a sidelong wink at the persistent fan theory that Eric's family is descended from Maria Renard. (I know, I know, the pronunciation is all wrong.) Given that he does bear Maria more than a slight resemblance, well, I just couldn't resist.

Q: OP, do you accept constructive criticism on your posts
A: Absolutely. All comments on this entry are screened, anon is on, and IP logging is off.

[OOC]

Backtagging: Of course. I work 0800-1700 during the week, so I'm no stranger to having to put things off for a few days.
Threadhopping: Sure!
Fourthwalling: 1917 Man Does Not Know What A Video Game Is - but go ahead. The novel Dracula does exist in-setting, so he'll assume the book is involved somehow.
Offensive subjects: I can't do rape or brainwashing and/or mind control plots, sorry.

[IC]

Hugging this character: I think he needs a "period-typical 'benevolent' sexism" tag hovering next to his icons - he'll accept a hug from a girl or woman without question, will accept one from a boy with some concern, and will react stiffly and with confusion to a man (who isn't Johnny Morris) hugging him.
Kissing this character: WILL NOT END WELL, DO NOT ATTEMPT UNLESS WILLING TO REVERSE THE SOCIAL LINK AS THOSE PURSE-OWNING KIDS PUT IT
Flirting with this character: Depending on canon point he may gently turn down advances or lash out. Generally speaking he'll be much more receptive to a woman flirting than a man, if he's at a point to gently let someone down.
Fighting with this character: Negative CR is my jam and he's frankly kind of a prick a lot of the time, go right ahead!
Injuring this character: Why not? Just tell me what you've got in mind.
Killing this character: It's fine, just ask first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: There's canon to support this being very difficult: he held his own and maintained his consciousness and sanity when up against Dracula's Castle, a living outcrop of chaos. Feel free to try, but he's well-shielded and will likely fight back.

Warnings: Period-typical sexism (though less than many, he's a slightly grown up Bohemian after all), occasional suicidality (at twenty-five he's just had to kill the love of his life after watching her die slowly because of a vampire)
